The Nursery has been a successful part of the area for many years, and little needed changing when the owners purchased Little Acorns in January 2004. However, whilst careful design kept external appearances to a minimum, investment in replacement double glazed windows throughout the Nursery, together with a complete internal redecoration and refurbishment of toys and equipment injected renewed life into the building.
The babies and toddlers are lovingly cared for in the homely group rooms downstairs and the pre-school children enjoy a wide variety of choice on the first floor. The nursery rooms are well equipped to provide for the needs of babies and young children with the many varied activities that take place throughout the day, focusing on 'learning through play'. The pre-school children also follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage) Curriculum and have the opportunity to use a computer to enhance their learning skills. The children can also enjoy a design built large garden with fruit and vegetable patch, nature trail and a hard play area for riding trikes and cozy coupes.
The Nursery provides nutritious well balanced hot meals and fresh fruit snacks freshly prepared daily by the Nursery cook and in 2011 the Nursery was awarded "Healthy Tots" accreditation to demonstrate our commitment to giving children a healthy start in their childcare provision. In 2010 the Nursery introduced a qualified Yoga teacher for the Nursery children to gain more from this type of physical activity.
The staff team is led by an experienced Nursery Manager who has a wealth of knowledge on childcare issues and is the main port of call for Parental queries or concerns.
