From Thursday 1st December our bright red Christmas post box will be available in the entrance hall offering a daily postal service for the children to send Christmas cards to their friends and letters to Father Christmas.
On Wednesday 14th December a fancy dress Christmas party has been arranged for all the children in the Nursery between 2.30pm and 4pm.
Parents, if your child does not attend Nursery during this session, you are most welcome to bring them along and stay to join in with the festive fun.
The children will be singing Christmas Carols and festive songs by candle light in the out door play area on Wednesday 21st December from 3.15pm.
Parents or Grandparents are invited to come along and enjoy a warm mince pie and mulled fruit punch whilst joining in with the carols!
Arushi, our Nursery cook, will be preparing the children a delicious traditional Christmas lunch on Wednesday 14th December.
Our role play area is being magically transformed in to ‘Santa’s Workshop’ and we are planning lots of traditional Christmas activities for the children to enjoy. The 2’s to 5’s will be practicing their writing skills as they write their letters to Father Christmas and will be very creative using lots of glitter, tinsel and glue as they make Christmas tree decorations, Christmas cards and calendars and bake mince pies.
The children will also be learning the words to festive songs and listening to Christmas stories.
On Thursday 15th December we will be displaying the children’s pictures in a winter art gallery setting in the outdoor play space. The ‘gallery’ will be open from 3pm and a special picture by each child will be displayed.
Parents please remember that the Nursery will be closed on Monday 26th December and Tuesday 27th December and on Monday 2nd January.
We are delighted to be able to confirm that there will be no increase in fees at The Little Foxes Day Nursery in January!
We have given the matter a great deal of thought and we bear in mind the very difficult climate that everyone is facing, but we do not wish to make all parents and carers financial balancing act more difficult by adding to their existing childcare costs. The freeze in fee scales will be put in place until October 2012 when it will be reviewed when we know the extent of the Governments minimum wage figure which has the main effect on our own costs as a business.
We welcome Claire back from her maternity leave, she is now based in the 2's to 5's working alongside Shamira and Amanda.
All our good wishes go to Sarah Hudson as she starts her maternity leave.
Parents, during the cold winter months please can you send your child to Nursery fully prepared to enjoy outdoor activities in suitable warm clothing and footwear. Please don't forget to clearly label your child‟s belongings.
We are currently collecting donations of small items & gifts to pack in to shoe boxes which we will be posting to children and families in third world countries in need of aid.
We would like to thank all our Parents for their kind donations which helped us raise £64.00 on Jeans for Genes Day.
We are delighted to be able to announce that, on the 28th October, we purchased a company called Childspace Limited which has three Nurseries based in Leicestershire.
The new Nurseries are located in Oadby, Narborough and on the Knighton Road in Leicester and all have the “Childspace” name as part of their ownership.
Welcome to all staff and parents to The Laurels Group of Nurseries!
Thank you to everyone who helped us raise a grand total of £108.60 for Children In Need!
